Topic: “Polygraphy”

Marty Oelrich obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice and is currently completing his thesis regarding test development and test use in psychophysiological detection of deception (PDD; polygraph) screening examinations, which will lead to the completion of his Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology. As an undergraduate he participated in a Practicum working with civilly committed adult sex offenders. After graduation, he was contracted as a research analyst and assisted in validating three adult sex offender assessment tools. He was later employed working with juvenile sex offenders in an outpatient treatment facility. He is currently a private examiner located in Tempe, Arizona, primarily conducting Post-Conviction Sex Offender Testing (PCSOT) throughout Arizona. Mr. Oelrich serves as a Director on the American Polygraph Association Board of Directors and is the General Chair for the Research and Devopment Committe and the Website Committee. He also seves as the Website Administrator for the American Polygraph Association. He is the acting Editor for the National Polygraph Association. He serves as the Secretary for ASTM International Committee E52 on Forensic Psychophysiology and is the Chair for the Liasion Sub-Committee. He serves as a Director on the Arizona Polygraph Association Board of Directors and is the Chair for their Research and Instrumentation Committee. Mr. Oelrich is a contributing author to several professional publications involving standardization, test development, special populations, ethics, etc. He has been invited to speak at numerous conferences and seminars regarding test development and test use in PDD screening, the use of PDD examinations with special populations, and interviewing individuals regarding computer and Internet based sexual behaviors. Mr. Oelrich has dedicated himself to pursuing a sustainable future for the polygraph profession through research, development, education and the ethical application and use of PDD testing.
